Why should
my family hire a nanny through TLC Nannies?
• We are a professional
and reputable company that is committed to excellence:
•Member of the INA (International Nanny Association).
•Member of other professional organizations.
Please see the links to the professional organizations we
are members of on the lower left of this page.
•We recognize that you are busy and your time is valuable
so we strive to make the process as quick and easy as possible
for you and your family.
• We are a very personable
and caring service. Your family’s happiness is very
important to us. We take the time to listen to your family’s
needs and concerns from the start so that we find the right
nanny for you as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• We have a straight
forward and easy to understand flat fee structure. We do not
collect a percentage of your nanny’s salary, and as
a result, we will not try to place a nanny that requires a
higher salary.
• Every family is
important to us. TLC Nannies will not put you on a list. Instead
we strive to get your family a nanny as soon as possible.
We take our job serious here at TLC!
• We expect the best
from our nannies. Meaning our nannies are professionals committed
to excellence. (TLC Nannies respects the work that our nannies
do and has worked hard to establish a wonderful working relationship
with our nannies over the years). Also, many of our nannies
refer our agency to other nannies.
• Most importantly
we expect the best from ourselves.
How long does the process
take to get a nanny?
• Majority
of our nannies are looking to start a nanny position as soon
as possible. The process usually takes between two and eight
weeks to complete. Although we have placed nannies within
two to three days. Once your registration is processed we
start the placement process immediately to get your family
the best nanny as soon as possible. We recommend that your
family get registered four to eight weeks in advance if possible.
What experience is required
of the nanny?
• We require
that the nanny has two solid years of nanny experience. We
also consider nannies that have an equivalent amount of experience,
meaning that they have nanny experience plus a combination
of daycare and teaching, group leader qualifications, church
nursery, babysitting, etc. We also prefer that our nannies
have college experience as well.
Am I responsible to withhold
nanny taxes?
• You are required
to withhold Social Security and Medicare taxes. The nanny
pays 7.65% on her gross earnings. As an employer, you match
this amount. The total paid to the federal government is 15.3%.
Nannies are also subject to Federal Unemployment tax. The
current tax rate is eight tenths of one percent on the first
$7,000 of wages earned in each calendar year, which means
the maximum due, would be $56.00. If you choose our agency
we can refer you to professional tax advisers that can help
answer all of your questions.
What happens if my nanny
doesn’t work out?
• While this has rarely been an issue
with our agency, we do understand that it may happen and plan
for it accordingly. Our agency has a three month replacement
policy, meaning that we will replace your nanny in the first
three months if you are not satisfied with the nanny at no
cost to you.
Does the nanny provide any
household chores for our family?
• The nannies
main duty is the care and safety of your children. This as
you know is a very big responsibility.
• Majority of our
nannies however are more then willing to help with light housework,
children’s laundry, help picking up children’s
toys, errands and grocery shopping, some even meal preparation.
However, the nanny should not be expected to clean your home.
If the nanny is cleaning your house you can expect that your
child/children do not have her undivided attention.
What salary/wage do I pay
my nanny?
• Salary and wages depend on many factors - such as whether they are permanent placement/temporary, live-in/live-out, and the individual nanny's experience.
• Please contact us for more information.
Do I have to provide benefits
for my nanny?
• No. Some families are able to provide
medical insurance, dental insurance, etc. This is a wonderful
bonus if your family can do this for the nanny. Some families
will provide this and pay less salary. It’s really up
to your family what you want and can do.
What are the agency
fees to our family?
• Please contact us for fee and policy information.
